Ardennes Assault is interesting, but AFAIK you can't enable mods while playing it. But as far as I love it, it's really lacking on the basics: - Select units when they're in the same spot. If you don't have keyboard software to do this, you have to do it with AHK. If you have a keyboard that comes with software that you can rebind keys, you can make tab numpad 0. I personaly love it, and probably wouldn't be playing COH if the tactical map were not present. There is no way to change the tactical map hotkey normally, you have to use seperate programs to do this. Second, I'm going to be playing this single-player - what in your opinions offers the best SP experience vs the AI? The Soviet campaign is kind of bad. Tactical map is the big overlooked feature of COH and COH2, and thus, it hasn't evolved since day one of the franchise. So first question, what are the best "realism" mods available that favor slower & more strategic/deliberate gameplay? I've just gotten the Wikinger mod but am not sure what other ones are worth checking out. Good game, but more a typical RTS in most ways.īut I do see a more realistic strategy game lurking under the hood, with the right modding it could really work. I got CoH2 hoping for a more tactical & historical squad-based game along the lines of the old Close Combat series - obviously COH2 isn't quite that.
